Bad news regarding pastie v2
Hi all, I’ve been quite busy lately, and sadly haven’t been able to work in pastie as I used to at the beginning of the project. I’m afraid this trend will keep up, because I will have to focus entirely on my thesis work (I’m a candidate for an MA in Philosophy, if you want to know). So I’ll have to ask if someone can take over the work from here. Pastie has proven quite successful, and I hope that continues to be so; I think that, if someone takes over, it will be. Now, the really bad news is that, due to an awful accident (I also lost quite a lot of my documents), I’ve lost all the work I had done on the new version of pastie, which had plugins support, a better CLI interface, improved GUI and search. As you can imagine, this is quite a letdown, since I spent a lot of time working on that. This is also quite a lesson about what not to do with a project such as this. With the first version of pastie, I released early and often, but I kept the new version unreleased because I thought it needed more work. That was foolishness of my part. Of course, bugs would have been better nailed if there was someone taking a look at them… I’m sorry for all this, and hope you understand why I’ll stop working on pastie, at least for the time being.
